Port Hedland

Port Hedland is a vital town in the Pilbara region of Western Australia, known for its bustling port, which handles the highest tonnage of any port in Australia. The town’s history dates back to the early 20th century when it became a significant centre for the region’s shipping and trade, particularly with the export of iron ore and other minerals.

The Port Hedland Regional Town Bus Service, operating under the name TransHedland, provides essential connectivity for residents and visitors. The service operates a fleet of eight low-floor buses, consistent with those used by Transperth, ensuring easy access for all passengers. TransHedland includes three town bus routes running Monday to Saturday, along with 10 dedicated school routes that operate on school days. These buses serve the entire public transport area, covering both Port Hedland and South Hedland, offering a convenient and reliable means of getting around the town and its surrounding areas.
