School Services

Behaviour on School bus services

TransRegional school services follow the ’orange’ School Bus Services policy on behaviour, please see the Behaviour Management Guidelines. TransRegional dedicated school services have a number of similarities to the ‘orange’ School Bus Services (i.e., the average age of students being much lower, services may operate in isolated areas and may have limited mobile phone or bus radio coverage).

Many of our regional bus operators also operate ‘orange’ school bus services or have connecting services to ‘orange’ school bus services, beneficial to have the same policy. This policy is endorsed by the local schools and supported by a passenger code of conduct. In the event of a breach, the student may then be penalised as per the penalty matrix and have their travelling entitlement removed for a period of time.

Students not paying bus fares

Students who continually do not pay their bus fare may lose their travelling entitlement. The Public Transport Authority and the local operator will consult with the students' school and parents before taking any action.
